Distraction Magazine - Contributor

June 2020 - Dec 2021

Produced two pieces for the Fall and Winter print editions of 2020. The first, "Only Their Faces" is a flash fiction piece centered on the experience of losing a loved one to police brutality whose past calls their innocence into question. The second, "Health Cares" is an article examining the state of racial bias in medical treatment and services and actions taken by the medical education community to address it in recent years. Also offered my editing services and contributed ideas for digital and print pieces in meetings as requested.

Sigma Tau Delta - Vice President of Publicity and Correspondence

Served on the executive board of the University of Miami's Phi Mu chapter of the International English Honor Society. Tasked with upkeep of website and social media accounts, organizing events and games for open and member meetings, crafting flyers and messages for broadcast using Canva and other editing software, and contributing to other roles as needed.

Administrative Assistant - Dept of Mathematics, University of Miami

Work study position serving in the office of the Dean and Advisor. Tasks included executing events for the department, proctoring exams, overseeing semester schedules and materials, tracking textbook and library inventory, managing appointments and walk-ins for department advisor, and serving as first point of contact for faculty, guests, and students in person, over the phone, and via email.

Writer, Editor, Curator, Designer - Freelance

Oct 2015 - April 2020

Completed commission-based and giveaway writing projects across online communities such as Twitter and Tumblr. Curated and designed free and for-profit fan zines with a small team of moderators. Organized and moderated free events for writers, artists, and editors across social platforms. Wrote creative copy and designed social media campaign materials for aforementioned projects. Also offered my services upon request for editing short and long stories and academic papers for secondary and post-secondary clients.
